Resource Overview​

AWS Shield Advanced protects AWS resources from DDoS attacks and allows configuration of resource aggregation methods and health check settings for resources included in protection groups.

Basic Settings​

  • aggregation : Method by which AWS Shield aggregates group resource data to detect, mitigate, and report events - MAX, MEAN, BY_RESOURCE_TYPE
  • pattern : Criteria for selecting protected resources to include in the group - ALL, ARBITRARY, SUM
  • resource_type : Resource type to include in the protection group

Health Check Settings​

  • health_check_ip_address : IP address of the endpoint to check
  • health_check_fqdn : Fully qualified domain name of the endpoint to check
  • health_check_type : Protocol used for health checks - HTTP, HTTPS, HTTP_STR_MATCH, HTTPS_STR_MATCH, TCP, CALCULATED, CLOUDWATCH_METRIC, RECOVERY_CONTROL
  • health_check_request_interval : Interval between health check requests (seconds) - 10, 30
